MN ACS Announces Events for MN/WI/SD/ND League Players

[From MN ACS President John Stich - Chalk Talk Productions] I just wanted to send you a quick note about some exciting things that are happening this year in Pool. First of all, I just got the approval for two pool tournaments at Treasure Island Resort & Casino in Red Wing, MN. These events will be open to League Players only, and we will be offering $5 per event discounts to players who are ACS sanctioned. I am running this event through my business, Chalk Talk Promotions, but as state president of the ACS, I am also trying to encourage everyone to get ACS Sanctioned. There are also two tournaments - state championship events, already scheduled for Northern Lights Casino in Walker, MN. In total, if your league sanctions ACS, your players will be eligible for all four events and over $40,000 in added money this year. Here is a list of the events with some dates and information:

Dec 17-20, 2009 - Treasure Island Resort & Casino, Red Wing, MN - Thursday/Friday 8-ball singles and Fri-Sun Team events. Open to all League Players, with ACS members receiving discounted entry fee. $6,000 Added

Mar 11-14, 2010 - Northern Lights Casino & Hotel, Walker, MN - Thur/Fri singles 9-ball, Fri-Sun singles 8-ball - ACS State Singles Championships - $12,000 Added

Apr 1-4, 2010 - Treasure Island Resort & Casino, Red Wing, MN - Thursday/Friday 8-ball singles and Fri-Sun Team events. Open to all League Players, with ACS members receiving discounted entry fee. $10,000 Added

Apr 15-18, 2010 - Northern Lights Casino & Hotel, Walker, MN - Thur/Fri Mixed Scotch Doubles 8-Ball, Fri-Sun Team 8-ball - ACS State Team Championships - $12,000 Added

Add it all up - $40,000 added to this year's events, plus we will be giving away thousands of dollars worth of prizes at the December event because it's so close to Christmas. Also, for the two events at Northern Lights, we will be offering "travel money" for players who choose to go to Vegas for the ACS Nationals after playing in our state tournaments. Last year we gave everyone from Minnesota who attended our state tournament at least $100 cash out at nationals, with some players receiving as much as $600 each if they won an event at state. All these funds were paid in cash to these players at the Riviera and most didn't expect it, but were delighted to get it.
