The 2009-2010 Lucasi Hybrid All American Tour (produced by the American CueSports Alliance – ACS) continued its momentum after the holidays with stop #24 – “South Side Chicagoland Players 8-Ball Tournament” - at Pockets Billiards in Crestwood, IL on January 2. The $500 added event featured fifty-three players in a double-elimination format on 7-foot Valley bar boxes.

(L-R) Tony Zierman (2nd) and Ike Runnels (1st)
Tony Zierman (Burnsville, MN) went undefeated to win the A-side finals by defeating John Plate (Monee, IL) 6-1, but Ike Runnels (Kankakee, IL) made his way back through the B-side to face Zierman in the tourney finals. On the B-side, Ike Runnels eliminated Tony Gong (Chicago, IL) at 4th place and continued his run back to challenge Zierman by eliminating John Plate 6-2 in the B-side finals. Ike Runnels continued his hot hand by defeating Tony Zierman twice, 6-3, 6-3 in the title sets!
By virtue of Ike Runnels also being the highest-finishing ACS member in the event, he qualified for a free 8-Ball singles entry into the 2010 ACS Nationals in Las Vegas – courtesy of the ACS. The ACS wishes to thank sponsors Lucasi Hybrid Cues, Championship Billiard Fabric, Nick Varner Signature Cases, oZone Billiards and Pool Cue Guru for their support in donating “Value-In-Kind” product for this and all stops on the Lucasi Hybrid All American Tour.
