The twenty-second stop of the 2009-2010 Lucasi Hybrid All American Tour (produced by the American CueSports Alliance – ACS) was hosted in Bloomington, IL, at Ride the Nine. The $500 added event featured an 19-player field in a double-elimination 8-ball format on 7-foot Valley bar boxes. Mike Dunklin (Normal, IL) displayed his superior skills on this day, capping off his undefeated run to the hot seat with a 4-0 shellacking of John Pokora (Springfield, IL) in the A-side semis and a 4-3 win over Jim Osbourne (Bloomington, IL) in the A-side finals.

(L-R) Mike Dunklin (1st) and Scott Boyd (2nd)
On the B-side Scott Boyd (Pekin, IL) eliminated Eric Naretto (Odell, IL) at 5th place by a 3-1 margin, and Vik Dalavaipalle (Bloomington, IL) tied Naretto by losing at the hands of John Pokora (Springfield, IL) 3-2 in the same round. Boyd then ousted Pokora at 4th place 3-2. Scott Boyd kept up his momentum in the B-side finals with a win over Jim Osbourne 3-2, setting up a tourney finals showdown with Mike Dunklin. Boyd kept things close in the first set, but Mike Dunklin prevailed on the hill 4-3 for the title!
By virtue of Scott Boyd being the highest-finishing ACS member in the event, he qualified for a free 9-Ball singles entry into the 2010 ACS Nationals in Las Vegas – courtesy of the ACS. The ACS wishes to thank sponsors Lucasi Hybrid Cues, Championship Billiard Fabric, Nick Varner Signature Cases, Ozone Billiards, Pool Cue Guru and Billiard Gods Productions for their support in donating “Value-In-Kind” product for this and all stops on the Lucasi Hybrid All American Tour. All entries in the Tour are also entered into a drawing in January for a $1,000 Lucasi Hybrid Cue, courtesy of Ozone Billiards. Sponsorship opportunities and tour stop openings are still available for the 2009/2010 All American Tour by contacting the ACS.
The Tour takes a holiday break, but heats up on the New Year’s weekend with two stops: a $1,000 added 9-Ball stop at Smokies in Virginia Beach, VA (contact Mike Wilson at 757-855-2114), and a $500-added 8-Ball Tour Stop at Pockets Billiards in Crestwood, IL (contact Dan Taylor at 630-399-8890) – both on Saturday, January 2.
